Background
‘The European Green Deal is our new growth strategy. It will help us cut emissions while creating jobs.” Ursula von derLeyen, President of the EC.
It is an integral part of the UN’s 2030 Agenda and the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs). It urges for the ‘Proactive re-skilling and upskilling’ of citizens which is necessary ‘to reap the benefits of the ecological transition’.
The GREENWAVE project is inline with the above, as well as addressing the dramatic consequences of Covid-19 in relation to youth unemployment and potential job creation.
GREENWAVE project opens up completely new routes for youth to explore the fight for the environment while engaging the young people in an interactive manner, customized to their generational preferences. Green jobs and green entrepreneurship are some of the key aspects which will define the success of the Green Deal and the EU environmental goals.
